Add the cream cheese, Ellsworth sharp cheddar, ranch seasoning, sour cream, bacon bits, and green onions to a large bowl. Mix well until the texture is smooth and everything is evenly combined.
Place a sheet of plastic wrap inside a separate bowl and spoon the cheese mixture into it.
Pull the plastic wrap up around the mixture and carefully shape it into a ball, letting the bowl support and maintain its form.
Refrigerate the wrapped cheese ball for at least 4 hours, or overnight if possible, to let it firm up and the flavors develop. Before serving, unwrap and transfer to a platter to serve.
